What sets me apart isn't a claim to be an all-knowing expert, but rather a journey of continuous observation, learning from real-life experiences, and a genuine passion for helping others uncover their own strengths. My diverse career background, spanning corporate environments, hospitality, karate instruction, surfing, personal training at a weight loss retreat, and outdoor recreation, has equipped me with a unique understanding of human behaviour and personal development. This rich tapestry of experiences makes "Auntie Deb" authentic and relatable, offering practical, real-world tools for growth.
The power of clear communication
My passion for helping kids, parents, and schools build confidence and communication skills stems from a core belief: most people don't have inherent behavioural issues. Often, what might be perceived as rude or challenging behaviour is simply a lack of effective communication skills, which in turn leads to a lack of confidence. By equipping individuals with the tools to express themselves clearly and constructively, we can address the root cause of many challenges, fostering stronger relationships and more confident decision-making.
Auntie Deb: A lifetime of mentorship
My journey to becoming "Auntie Deb" began early – I became an auntie at the age of six, and since then, I've been fortunate to mentor hundreds of children and young people throughout my career. For 12 years as a karate instructor, I saw firsthand how confidence is truly the best self-defence, extending far beyond physical skills. This deep-rooted experience with my 12 nieces and nephews, combined with my professional mentorship, has shaped my unique approach to empowering others. It's about real talk, real support, and helping you discover the real you.
